Hi there!

You've reached the website of Lewie Mortier

Let's get to know me

My name is Lewie Mortier. I'm an associate software engineer at DMI working in the Barcelona office. My day to day tasks include: developing native, high quality Android apps, enjoying the pleasures of working in an international environment and, most importantly, having fun in the process.

I finished my studies at Odisee (formally known as KaHo Sint-Lieven) with a bachelor degree in Computer Science. I kept on learning ever since, and I don't plan to stop.

What I've been up to

  • Plan an adventure route
Did you ever wanted to do some hiking but did not know where to go? Were you wondering what beautiful spots you'll come across during your adventure? This is the tool to find out. Using the google maps API and the Flickr API, it's possible to plan your hiking trip, as well as get to know a little bit more about your trip.

  • Have a family minute!
We are all super busy these days. Working, going to the gym, running errants, you name it and we do it. Wouldn't it be nice to have some time to spend with the family as well, share the great moments you encounter in your day to day life? Whether it's a nice song, a funny video or just a nice simple text message. The prototype we created helps you do just that.

  • Rent my tools
Did you ever buy a picasso but didn't have the tools to hang it on the wall? Does your wife ever complain you need to get a lawnmower, but you prefer to spend the money on something else? Maybe you can rent these tools from somebody in your neighbourhood This project was about making certain tools available for people in your neighbourhood to use, and give it back. Complete with notification system and CMS, a user can manage their products with ease!

Native Android Apps

  • Addison Lee
London's big private-hire taxi firm. Fighting for years against other giants like Uber, and still making it by the end of the day! This native mobile app was developed while working in DMI. Working with an international team was one of the easiest challenges.

  • Art Basel Official App
Since 1970, Art Basel’s goal has been to connect the world's premier galleries and their patrons, as well serving as a meeting point for the international artworld. Now, over forty years later, its three fairs - in Basel, Hong Kong and Miami Beach - rank as the premier shows of their kind, presenting 20th and 21st century art with a strong curatorial perspective. Our reputation for showing high quality work has attracted leading international galleries and collectors, offering visitors the most important art from around the world. This mobile app is used by thousands of people during the three fairs, no need to say more.

  • And more to come soon.
